Overview

The “Cantinero” Tape Dispenser is inspired by the colourful tulip-shaped napkin holders found in Mexican cantinas and fondas. It answers a similar need: to hold and offer up something useful, disposable and consumable — like a napkin, but in this case a strip of adhesive tape. | The idea grew out of a wish to inhabit a space of creativity and making, where I find a parallel with the atmosphere of cantinas: places defined by joy, community and pleasure. For me, those same values are deeply connected to the creative act.
